In my opinion, Rhapsody have had a very negative impact on the Italian scene. Abroad, Italy has been identified as a country exclusively focused on power metal, which has led to complete indifference from labels towards some bands that proposed a genre different from this happy metal... if you're not doing happy metal, we won't sign you because Rhapsody have shown that money can be made with happy metal. I would say they have done more harm than good for Italy, and to be honest, I prefer to be represented by a band like Cannibal Corpse in their rawness rather than by Rhapsody... Luca Turilli who self-proclaims his genre as epic tarantella metal... I mean, sure, they’re somewhat amusing, but I don't think that was their intention.

I was just talking on a forum about the overrated nature of certain groups... Arcturus, in terms of avant-garde BM, are a notch below Solefald (or Ved Buens Ende) when it comes to Neonism... Of course, not everyone can have Garm behind the microphone, but... I prefer Solefald by quite a bit... the Arcturus are too hyped up, but anyway, it's always just my personal opinion.
