Elio e le Storie Tese Italyan, Rum Casusu Çikti

Damn! At least sign it! I figured out the double meanings on my own. Brave simply because I haven't seen many people take a song to Sanremo that mocks Italy in such a blatant way; there, you only hear love stories and various nonsense, and don’t deny it, Sanremo has its cookie-cutter songs; in any album from any group that participated in this shitty festival, you can immediately recognize the song by its structure!

Confusing review but...with soul! The album is stunning, but I prefer the first one. However, as a good listener of metal and more, I can say that System DON'T make metal; it's a unique rock sound that I haven't heard anywhere else, truly original, fun, powerful, and melodic at the same time, courageous and, which is not common these days, they tackle serious themes and have valid ideologies. Great System, great Malakian! They're also great live!

Their position has been buried, I'm sure of it. The fact is that a group like them can't win Sanremo; it would jeopardize the image of good old crappy Italian pop music. They're way too nonconformist... They’ve demonstrated their superiority nonetheless, even though I believe that many didn’t grasp the meaning of the song and only laughed at the more superficial side of the Elii (rockets, wigs, fake hands, and various weird verses). "La terra dei cachi" was a courageous song.

Well, I read the review by cicciput and there are a lot of criticisms of the Elio's in the comments, and then Puntini, I don’t mean that they sound bad, on the contrary, the fact is that they often play seemingly silly things and always in a very "comical" way while maintaining an absurd level of class! Elio should have a degree in music or something like that...

This album sucks, unlike masterpieces like "elio samaga hukapan kariyana turu" or "Italian rum casusu cikti." This is useless, vulgar nonsense, and to put it bluntly, self-serving. But the elii in the past produced some truly brilliant stuff! Their songs need to be listened to and re-listened to, deciphered and translated, and finally listened to again. I've been listening to them since I was about 10 years old (that is, for 10 years; back then, they just made me laugh uncontrollably and I liked the swear words they used... kids...) and since then I've continued to find double meanings and subtle critiques hidden beneath speeches and verses that seem only comedic and silly but often deal with much more uncomfortable and serious topics than they appear. Elio e le storie tese did (and occasionally still manage to do today) all of this with style and irony, not caring about anyone or anything, while also playing superbly! Many people don’t understand them and criticize them; I like to think it’s just because they don’t really listen to them, but I believe the real problem is that not everyone has the means to truly understand them and smile along with them.
