I am flattered by your overly generous judgment, but I have neither the aspiration nor the means to write "perfect pages," let alone that. I keep my feet on the ground and only enjoy teasing the appetite of those who share my own musical diet (which is quite varied, indeed). In this select circle, I am lucky to have attentive readers willing to spend a bit of time with my poppophilic musings and beyond. Some, like in your case, even have the courage to verify. ;-)

About the nightlife, I’m not doing too well: I closed up shop more than a decade ago. I mostly go to multiplex cinemas with my kids and grandkids. ;-) However, it doesn’t mean I have to spend my days in a dance hall to the sound of Raul Casadei... My first steps were taken to the rhythm of Disco: Van McCoy, Barry White, Gloria Gaynor, Chic, The Trammps, The O'Jays; but also Bee Gees, Blondie, moving through Michael Jackson (yes, that very one, the rogue...), Grace Jones, Earth, Wind & Fire, Depeche Mode, Heaven 17, Human League, Eurythmics, Kraftwerk, of course Prince. Moving away from this Jurassic era, Soul II Soul and acid jazz (Galliano, the first Jamiroquai, Brand New Heavies, D*Note, Incognito...), the Manchester scene (Happy Mondays, Stone Roses, The Charlatans...), Primal Scream, trip-hop (Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Goldie...), Roni Size, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Thievery Corporation, UNKLE, Amon Tobin...and many more.

The unmistakable and classic hal-style... pardon me if that’s not enough. ;-) I’ll tell you I’m reevaluating "Blinking...", a work that seemed to me rather uneven at first listen and with a few too many tracks.

As for Festwca: it is not essential to know the '60s to approach this record; listening to it without, let’s say, "background knowledge" might even turn out to be more interesting and fun.

On "Blue Light 'Til Dawn," I see that we are all in agreement. I am also more than willing to join her in this new adventure, especially given such a significant support.
