I have already confessed my shortcomings when it comes to classical music, but here I’m realizing that I’m in worse shape than I thought. I should also say that sometimes I approach it a bit out of cultural "duty," without true passion; at other times, however, I feel completely involved. But I believe, with all good intentions and while recognizing its high artistic and aesthetic value, that I will never really be a true connoisseur or a systematic listener of classical music. The review is of the usual excellent level.

Neil Hannon is among my favorites, and I don’t think this will surprise any friend who knows my tastes by now. His career is further proof that writing songs according to pop standards is not always driven by a thirst for success and commercial calculations, as some superficially believe. Neil has the "calling" and the talent, and I hope that this album, as my friend asserts, confirms it. P.S. oboi is fine.
