AA.VV. MTV Day @ Bologna - 16.09.06

Tasty chronicle. Your divination skills are significantly diminished... and then, the fuchsia umbrella: daring! Watching a little piece on MTV, that one with the, um, "Superband" (good for them, though), I sincerely wondered how much they paid those poor souls to get all that water. ;-)

Dr. John, I hope that the "tundra" of the soul can soon give way to at least a "savannah." ;-)

Thank you, also to Hal, Lello (what you say is true: in some pieces, you can also see the influence of Paddy) and Sfascia. Bisius, I’ve never been passionate about the unmasking of fakes (they explained to you what it means...) that come and go here on debaser. However, regarding you, the fifteen-year-old "alternative," allow me to have very strong suspicions.

You’ve accomplished a lot; you managed to find a pop band that I don't know (it didn't go well with the Pearlfishers, though...):-). Great tip that we’ll need to follow up on.

Thank you to everyone who attended. I urge the fearful to give it a chance, especially those who are worried about revivalist blunders: you might be surprised.

An interesting group in their field, faded over the years, of which I own what I believe is their best work "Original Soundtrack" (1975), featuring one of the all-time FM singles, "I'm Not in Love." P.S. The irony you mention is also present in the very name of the band, which alludes to the amount of sperm produced by ejaculation.
Pharrell In My Mind

Hey guys, still with this alternative story? Come on! It’s a vacuous and indefinable category, a useless passkey. If you want, you can always be alternative, musically speaking, compared to something. Anyway, Pharrell well represents the contradictions, the lights and shadows, of the current black scene, the most pop-influenced one. Let’s say he’s someone inclined to compromises, a real slickster, but also a true talent. Some tracks with the Neptunes and especially the first N.E.R.D. album are among the best things that r'n'b has seen lately.

I listened carefully. I regret not being more timely. Sometimes wonderfully exaggerated, larger than life, but, in my opinion, their class is crystal clear. At the end of the year, I believe we'll discuss it again for the top.
