Frankly, they never told me anything; they stamped their sound and became a benchmark for something that was poorly copied. It always feels like hearing other records. I don't understand why they tear apart the first Strokes album while the same people praise the debut of this band, which came out around the same time. Maybe this one is good; maybe they have a bit of personality. Anyway, your enthusiasm is admirable, infectious.
