Ah, have single track reviews become a bore? I couldn't care less about them, and I haven't written any either, you could bet your bottom dollar on that...

As always, I forget the stars, for heaven's sake.

I am not impartial when I talk about Falsini and this album in particular; it’s one of those records where you notice the imperfections, the uncertainties, the stylistic limitations, but you fell in love with it as a kid and, at the rate of once or twice a year, you listen to it again in its entirety and more than willingly. Well done to you for having unearthed it and for discussing it with moderation and sincerity.

First of all... Welcome.
We discussed at length (and let’s be honest, even more) the monstrous technical qualities that Mina possessed; she had an impressive vocal range and an extraordinary ease in singing that is quite remarkable and rare in the world of pop music, and certainly not only in the Italian scene. If she had been American, she would have been acclaimed worldwide, but oh well.
Anyway, it's a question of keeping up, I’ve already said it, she is the greatest Swiss singer, though this doesn’t diminish her worth.
And I’ve always found her a bit cold, incredibly skilled in both high and low registers, resilient and gifted in improvisation, here we are, but still always a bit cold and calculated, perhaps due to her character, nonzò...
Her repertoire, of which 99% of so-called fans barely know ten songs (which are mainly the classics from the '60s plus “Tintarella Di Luna” and off we go...) is largely made up of somewhat bland tracks, when not quietly compliant with market logic—logical paths that she knows well, having set up her own label in due time.
Honestly, when do you ever put an entire album by the Tigre di Cremona on the table, or in the player, or in the USB stick? Of course, we remember her for the glorious Battisti interpretations and a handful (a tiny handful...) of other splendid performances, especially up to and not beyond the mid-'70s. But she, a poor manager of herself, has continued to release albums of excellent technical quality in the field of recording and more strictly vocal work, always supported by nothing less than superb musicians, thereby invading the charts and even the patience of millions of average Italians, shall we say. In this regard, unless you’re an absolute and uncompromising fan of Mazzini who knows everything by heart, I invite you, as well as everyone else here, to list five titles of Minera songs released in the last thirty years, covers excluded. That’s enough.
Personally, and for what it’s worth, my preferences in the field of female voices go to singers like Vanoni, certainly less gifted than Mina, but when she sang (and I’m talking about the past) she put her heart into it, not just her vocal cords and diaphragm, or Ruggiero.
The landscape from the '80s to today is disheartening concerning Italian pop interpreters. I won’t mention Mina’s younger contemporaries, like Giorgia, Mannoia, or even younger ones like Ayane, because all of them are distinctly gifted with good/excellent qualities but have at their disposal a repertoires of poorly done songs, quickly forgettable trash.

But you killed the Chimera, damn it, and you let yourself be fooled by the infernal duo of wife and mother-in-law? Do they even know it was your spear that pierced the throat of the vile beast? Surely they know and spare no thought for it, as we say back home, in Numidia.
So all that's left for you is to follow the wise advice of the prof: let them have the honor of the little bath but stick them with the burden of the diaper.
Even today, more than two decades later, I remember the horrific scene of my small, smiling and blissful child being stripped of the infamous diaper that I later discovered was utterly incapable of containing the torrent of byproduct from her bodily functions. In short, she was covered in shit up to her shoulders.
So, come on, leave this ungrateful task to the two Erinyes who, for their part, will feel honored and gratified. You’ll see that very soon, they will ask you sweetly if you wouldn’t like to witness such a procedure, but you, generous and unyielding, always refuse, always... It’s for the sake of your nasal functions.
Beautiful the review and undeniable the product, go ahead with the stars.

A nice surprise, the old Devadip still scratching away.... Then the female voice is wonderful and Carlos' little wife behind the plates and drums plays her part very convincingly. He holds his own and shows no signs of arthritis, not even the mental one that had taken over him in all the two thousands.....

In my opinion, it's too late for you; the only remedy is Cold Turkey, no point in trying lighter theories. Because Marina Abramovic eludes me, but I'm telling you this quietly because I'm afraid you might actually have a reason.

I don't like the music of these people at a bleah level, but I really like how you write, goodness gracious.

I don't agree with you, and I like the album for the same reasons, probably, that you don't. But I like how you write and I embrace you.
