The animated segments by Gerald Scarfe are spectacular.

Beautiful review, I practically agree on all points. I thought "This: yes, it's a cool movie!" from the very first frame.

I will delve into Nerf.

Revisited yesterday, a decidedly successful ecological fairy tale, with a greatly appreciated marked dark tone, and all the characters are extremely well done. For me, the love story remains just a bit trivial – typical of Miyazaki, indeed. :P Subjectively, I place it half a step below 'Spirited Away', but still beautiful.

A beautiful and touching film, where in my opinion the talent of Tedeschi shines through; I simply adored her performance. Ramazzotti was great too. Some implausibilities in the script are more than forgivable, come on.

The funny thing, however, is that the part about the move as an adventure is entirely the work of the English script, inherited from us in our first adaptation; in the original, the mother lazily tells her to get a grip, I laugh.

The film is obviously a masterpiece, the metaphors are delightful, and the train scene is loaded with suggestion.

But wasn't the trailer's tune the same used for 'Il racconto dei racconti'?

Does anyone know the name of the track? Haha

Were you the only viewer in all of Italy? XD Hahaha
The comparison to 'The Lord of the Rings' is sharp and accurate; it was indeed Disney's first choice, but Tolkien, despising their way of making movies, refused to sell the rights.

Getting back to the film, in terms of atmosphere (dark) and villain (terrifying), we’re on point; the problem is that the story is confusing (since if I’m not mistaken the film mixes several books from the saga) and the protagonists are insipid to the point of nausea.

The only case where I eagerly await the live-action, hoping for an improvement.

It needs no comments, a work of art in every way.

Absolute masterpiece (as indeed all the first five Classics produced, which will remain of unreachable level), an extremely dark tale of redemption under the light style typical of the circus. The Pink Elephants, well, not to mention, an immense segment, the highest ever touched by Disney, practically the emblem of the great things that Disney could potentially have done in the future.

A big film, even if conceived as light compared to the blockbusters of the same period, 'Fantasia' and 'Bambi.'

Immense film, brilliant idea for a movie that showcases an unprecedented suggestion in direction, performances, characterizations, messages, and historical era, harsh and bigoted just enough.
