But can I be the only jerk who had never seen it before?

That's how it would have been a hit.

Take the daze experienced with 'Angel's Egg' and multiply it by a thousand.

Great play, supported by a very well-blended ensemble cast, and overall I found the first part to be truly excellent—carefree and light, realistic and fresh—while in the second it becomes all too exaggerated and forced, a bit of an obvious search for the "shock" effect. However, it must be said that in the context of creating tension, it fits perfectly. The ending is excellent, as is the final speech of the host; yes, a beautiful film.

It's only been ten minutes and I already need a rewatch, HOW BEAUTIFUL

It's a fundamental film, anyway; works of this kind transcend the boundaries of their medium to impose themselves as lucid portrayals of the human soul. Incommensurable.

Excellent from a moral standpoint, great packaging, content and execution... meh. I see a meticulously crafted product, undoubtedly an Oscar bait, but it stops there, nothing particularly striking that makes me remember it in the long run. For me, it's a 7/10.
You’re great as always, excellent arguments, thank you for rationalizing my general frustration.

Ahhhh, but you’re the one who is criticizing Cannarsi in 'Gli sconcertanti adattamenti dello Studio Ghibli'! What a small world XD

Can I message you privately to ask you a doubt that I've been carrying around since yesterday?
