Absolutely Total, the most beautiful film by Fellini alongside '8 1/2' (which transcends the very concept of cinema). Undoubtedly elegant, dirty, wicked but capable of tremendous delicacy and almost a fairy-tale veil (the sequence of Sylvia practically). A gigantic ending that reiterates the miserable condition of an unutterable Mastroianni, and a thousand other levels of interpretation that I didn’t grasp on first viewing (partly due to the time) but that will give me an excuse to watch it again XD Masterpiece, but with a capital M.

Absolutely stunning film, a manual on how a Gospel adaptation should be done, you can fully breathe in a commendable rural atmosphere, and then there are the top-notch choices of sacred/classical music. A notch below Scorsese's film for me, yet still excellent.

Extraordinary, one of the highest expressions of Japanese animation (probably my second favorite stand-alone anime): it starts like 'Taxi Driver', unfolds into 'Blade Runner', and ends like '2001: A Space Odyssey'. So much substance and an orgasmic audiovisual experience. Yet, the screenplay is indeed weaker than the rest; I'm the first to admit I didn’t understand a thing from the third act onwards, but the emotional-visual contribution remains excellent right until the end. Surely the manga, with all the narrative elements in their proper place, must be something exceptional.

I learned about the story thanks to a song by Baustelle, and I was simply stunned; even now I can’t explain why it affected me so deeply. If I had experienced it live as a child, I would probably have had nightmares indefinitely. I don’t think I will ever have the courage to read the book.

A Grave for the Fireflies is a total drag in terms of drama, my god. Still really beautiful in presenting an atypical musical, raw, mature, and with an ultra-cynical ending. Divine Björk.

Boom baby best disco prog I've ever heard.

Nice a little less than its predecessor, and with a remarkable suite albeit imperfect.

In line with the first one, a tragicomic biting piece that will leave you in stitches.

Refined and evocative, very beautiful indeed.

So I'm not the only one who spent the first half hour wondering if they were watching the live-action Simpsons movie. Awesome and wickedly funny.
