For me, the "best" or, if you will, the one that has resonated with me the most in this sense is "Novecento" by the same Bertolucci.

Of course, Amarcord is beyond discussion and so is 8½..
... But "Le notti di Cabiria" remains, for me, the pinnacle of his pyramid.

In my opinion, in "armandese" you wrote superb pages when the focus remained on the disk (like the last two).

But sometimes you "bend" the disk to say what you want, and you make it speak in "armandese," and, for me, it works much less effectively.

For me, anyway, vanishing point is at most 3 stars (and I round up).
