Fortunately, there are still some who quietly create singer-songwriter music. Or rather, here the singer-songwriter concept, in its most classic sense, gives way to a tribute to a "cursed" figure of Italian poetry, too easily snubbed. I don't know him (Larocca). A 5 to you for the suggestion.

Finding something in vinyl... Quite rare and they cost a lot. Empathic songs like a nest of hornets in your pants, but certainly unique and interesting. Musically, it’s worth it too.

Good job, Fabi. I respect him. Intelligent, sarcastic, he has his own style and stands out well from the crap that’s around today. I've never really explored him properly. This cover has always made me smile a bit, it really reminds me of Migone from Zelig "panda eye" :)

Fossati, from the early days until 1977 ("La Casa Del Serpente"), never excited me, although this collaboration with Prudente is certainly more accessible compared to the entirety of his early discography.

"Three steps ahead" of many already in 1958. A character at times predictable, but a giant. "Prisencolinensinainciusol" a groundbreaking piece.

What is it? The Sandro Giacobbe syndrome?

In my review last week, I highlighted that almost all of Battisti's musicians from 1976 played for Ivan until 1979.

Why then bring up the Professor in a review of Ivan? There's no connection between the two. Surely, a huge mutual respect.

"The songs of the Battisti-Mogol duo are, in principle, all a bit like 'il mio canto libero'... Have you ever listened to 'Il Nostro Caro Angelo', 'Anima Latina', 'Amore e non Amore', 'Don Giovanni', 'L'apparenza', 'CSAR'... and other scattered pieces like 'Respirando', 'Questione di cellule', 'Il monolocale', or the immense musical structure of the album 'Una donna per amico'? A record from 38 years ago that seems recorded in 1993 due to the freshness of the sounds. And then excuse me, Battisti was outside the schemes of social commitment. He didn't give a damn, even though deep down he wished for a rosy future for everyone. He came from mountainous and farming lands after all. He saw hunger in the post-war years. But he was a musician and loved Music. Period. He absorbed everything that came from the outside world, devoured it, reassembled it in his own way, and spat out works of art every year... Let's not say more bullshit that Lucio made all the same songs. I believe he is the only artist who has never repeated himself."
