Seen on Monday at the cinema. 3 hours of over-the-top excess filled with "fuck!", "to screw!", "blowjob!", "fuck off!"... Beyond the gratuitous vulgarities, which still serve to give an idea of what we're facing, I think it's an overly cynical film, with not a shred of ethical teaching. Belfort gives the impression of someone who would do it all over again, has no regrets, doesn't waver. He throws the world, his world, under the bus to save his own skin. "Son of a bitch," at the end, is the fitting label that the "sales lessons" presenter gives him.

"1983" was the ideal dividing line between the "old" and the "new" Dalla. Malavasi from "Viaggi Organizzati", working also in the electronic field, brought innovations to Lucio's repertoire that were in step with the times, not always "accepted" by listeners. I remain firmly anchored to the more classic Dalla post "1983". There is no album from that period that bores or disorients me while listening. The "new" Dalla leaves me with a bitter taste in several episodes, "Bugie" and "1999", perhaps his least successful albums. In other situations, albums that don't overwhelm (such as the present "Viaggi Organizzati", "Cambio" or "Henna"), but scatter some sparkling gems you mentioned in the last paragraph or the same "Washington". Dalla, like Battisti, Battiato, and a few others, was musically ahead of a decade compared to other artists, that desire to experiment which makes you tip your hat, but not always allows us, whether due to taste issues or sensations, to recognize their value. Anyway, excellent review and congratulations for mentioning the gem "Angeli" with the too often (sigh) forgotten Lauzi.

I have a lot of vinyl by Eugenio too. His early works are on the verge of excellence, in collaboration with Area, and with sublime arrangements. I've kind of lost track of him. I will make up for it.

Sorrentino did not go beyond "La Dolce Vita". He simply adapted it to the present day, dissected it, and served it on a plate. And that's the real shit poured over that plate: the fictitious sweet life of the 2000s.

Hats off for the comeback. Album and artist now and forever enshrined in the display case of the best trophies.

They really get on your nerves, but the young and old veterans enrolled in the National Associations are among the first civil volunteers (and I emphasize "AMONG," not "the only ones," so be careful; I know for sure that many other volunteer associations participate as well) who rush in during earthquakes, floods, and whatever else, without earning a dime. I am a retired Alpino, proud to have served (considering I chose to be a tank driver), and when I can, I go to the national gatherings and I have fun singing and drinking, but most of all getting to know a new city (which is selected every year). Here’s to you and the glorious songs of the Alpini!

Praised be your laziness...

Riba, you’ve written extraordinary reviews. I like your reviews; this isn’t about snobbery, but you’ve tackled a pillar of 20th-century literature in a way that’s far too casual and laid-back, as if you were giving a gentle pat on the back to your ninety-eight-year-old great-grandfather, resulting in a dislocated shoulder, and with the other hand, giving a quick slap to the Dalai Lama's backside.

"But here I see you, you look at me.. like you look at a little sheep, how you look! And how true it is, that in the eyes there is everything and that every glance is a mystery. I see that you too are moved, finally you come closer to tell me what you feel. Standing, you remain standing naked, little sheep, if only I could see you naked, how beautiful you are."

I've been seeing these boxes here and there for quite some time now. I was personally drawn to the one from the 1975-76 season at the Bussola in Viareggio, which was accompanied on tour, if I'm not mistaken, by New Trolls, but I still haven't found it. What I haven't understood is whether this is a reissue of the double "1991 concerti," which was published back in 1991 and was biologically born from the tour of the album "Le Nuvole," or if it's a standalone chapter... But I believe it's precisely that. So 5!
