I’ve never been obsessed with tactical FPS games; I preferred either arena shooters or ones where the action is a bit more direct and less calculated. But I played a lot years ago (both Source and G:O), turning into Satan himself when the Russian roulette of playing with randoms paired me with people even worse than me, human cases with a Chicco mic and mute, unshakable specters who couldn’t even communicate what planet we were on. Over the years, I abandoned the game (my ongoing obsession became FIFA), but every now and then I check out the pro matches you mention in the review, and sometimes it's quite an interesting spectacle.

One thing that horrifies me, to say the least, is the skin and item market... a total short circuit in the gaming world, considering how many people complain about shops and paid loot boxes.

Sometimes on my YouTube homepage, this excitable Spaniard appears, who destroys his house every time he dies or fails, hahaha

Not as cacophonous as "The Second Annual Report", still today my favorite album by TG because it's more minimal and easier to digest, but three times more abstract and chaotic and at times really unsettling, especially 'Convincing People', 'Persuasion', and 'What A Day'.

Even the more atmospheric pieces like 'Tanith' or 'Exotica', which at first seemed a bit forced to me, contribute to elevating that sense of unease and uncertainty, and the more I listen, the more I wonder how one can conceive, write, and compose stuff like this and make it work so well.

One of the most rotten yet absolutely delectable things I've heard recently. After careful research, I discovered that I had marked them a while ago on my endless list of things to listen to, but your review has given them high priority given the mentioned genres, the fact that they are on 20 Buck Spin, and of course your inviting and meticulous description.

A sound that's absolutely killer; in the more brutal and intense parts, I’m reminded of the early Incantation (the ones with C. Pillard on vocals, to be clear), but also the Nile of "In Their Darkened Shrines"; the riff at 5:03 in 'Murk Above the Dark Moor' is wonderfully similar to the riff in 'Unas Slayer of The Gods' (which in turn referenced 'The Well of Souls' by Candlemass). Finally, in the darker, catacomb-like parts, I think of the darker Evoken and even certain aspects of black metal. As if that weren't enough, those symphonic elements that occasionally appear are spot on.

I've been listening to it for a few days and I’m hooked, especially track three 'Cloaked in Nightwinds' - my favorite - I have to listen to it at least 2 or 3 times each time... 11 minutes of epic monstrosity. Not to mention the final piece and the spine-tingling solo within it.

Although death doom is a genre that has been explored from all angles to this day, it’s always great to discover bands and albums of this kind with a sound that is indeed very similar, almost revivalist, to the classics, yet at the same time truly inspired.

Here we are! A very difficult album to listen to, but with a terrifying beauty. It started to communicate something to me after the fifth or sixth listen, and I can hear all the bands you mentioned in it, especially Sunn O))) and Magma, but the sound of this monolithic album has many more nuances, thanks in part to the very unique vocals (nothing to envy to someone like Attila Csihar) and the use of saxophones. At times it immerses you in dark and black tribal ceremonies, while in certain moments things become almost psychedelic, without losing the negative aura that permeates all the tracks. I was intrigued by the overall duration when reading the genres, and I must say I was amazed at how well they filled these two hours of music... it’s hard to lose concentration or get bored.

I’m intrigued by everything—the mentioned genres, the cover, the comparisons, and of course your review, sign ✍ then I’ll revisit!

You said it all and you said it perfectly! This EP was, chronologically, the second work of Aphex Twin that I listened to after discovering his music with "Richard D. James Album" (my favorite). Then I obviously continued to explore the rest of his discography, but I'm convinced that this is one of the most unique stylistically, and even though I know he is not the type of artist who likes to repeat himself, I would love to hear from him one day more aggressive and sinister things like the famous title track... even though he came close with certain tracks on "Syro."

The text in the album booklet is genius haha Ingrandisci questa immagine

I fully agree with the review; it's a decent album that entertains if you can tolerate that stench of déjà entendu that hangs over the entire tracklist.

Personally, I'm glad to see them still active, and on some tracks, they can still kick you in the ass a bit. Unfortunately, Obituary haven't aged as well as their contemporaries like Immolation, Incantation, or Autopsy, who are still putting out great albums to this day!

"Atrocity Exhibition" and also "Old" (underrated) can't be beaten, but this is still another great album by Danny Brown. Even with some beats that I think are a bit too calm for his style, he manages to find inspiration, delivering several memorable tracks... for example, "Theme Song" comes to mind with A$AP Ferg's adlibs, my absolute favorite, super fun but also gets me hyped haha, a feeling that the entire album transmits to me in general. You definitely hit the mark with his voice, look for the interview with Fantano from a few years ago, where he clearly says he draws inspiration from B-Real and... Jonathan Davis from Korn!

Anyway, I'm really curious to hear what he and JPEGMAFIA have come up with. I hope it’s not something too self-referential, but a seriously dope work... a kind of twisted and hallucinatory "Watch the Throne"!

Really a great album! This style really suits him, while still maintaining important elements related to the UK hip-hop scene. A strong point, moreover, is how he managed to create something very catchy, where each piece of the tracklist could easily be a single, without softening his sound too much. One criticism I have is regarding the production, which feels a bit too polished in my opinion, perhaps to highlight his voice and lyrics that are obviously the focal point of the album.
