Now that I have it and I've listened to it, I think a rating of 4 is fair. I really like it, and you were right to compare it to Soft Black Star: it's predominantly piano-driven. The only thing is: if it had a more "symphonic," more powerful quality, it would have easily been a 5. Nonetheless, this is the album, and I believe that despite my notes, it's one of the best Current 93 records I've ever heard.

In my ignorance, I didn't believe that Tehardo was Italian; now it's all clearer :) However, I don't really sense much avant-garde as you do in the album. If I had to make a comparison, it would be with the last 2-3 albums by Neubauten (but I prefer EN up until Tabula Rasa). I'm not voting for the album right now because I've listened to it little and it eludes a precise idea that I still need to form, even though I've had it for about a year.

Well, I liked it. Let's say 3.5. Let's see what they will come up with next, but I've already written how I feel about it. The album is not bad at all. Thanks for the heads-up.

big eyes, I really want to try this CD. maybe I'll come back to vote for it. but: if things are as you say, I think we'll have to settle for what we have here. I don't believe the next release will be to our liking; those with commercial tendencies will lean towards that, also because they are profitable. even zola jesus is considering it (oh god, it's still not commercial). but a fan-pleasing turn is more likely than an unyielding resurgence. the album, from what I’ve understood and heard on the tube, has dark parts and pop parts. both types might work for me; I'm not inherently opposed to the commercial, but I doubt they can coexist on an album. the two souls risk clashing even for those who can appreciate certain dark rock and more carefree pop. it can't all be blended, and that's a limitation. however, I believe the aspect that most interests us debaserians will be obliterated by the next release. dead on arrival, but I still want to hear the CD properly.

big eyes, in November they released their new album, the prophecy, a huge suite that originates from two concerts reworked in the studio, it's a nice album! give it a try and maybe write a review.

First! As soon as it comes out, I'm getting it. Far from being my favorite band, but I really liked the single.

5 even just for the last verse. I'll avoid the album because I'm afraid of committing suicide, and that fear grows with the years. Death is a sleep without torments. Sorry for the outburst.
