a certainly listless and uninspired record, but ultimately sufficiently pleasant and enjoyable. the production is mellifluously murky and lazy. the vocal performances lack fervor, grit, and conviction.

the review leans towards a harsh critique ("they had nothing to say, and indeed they didn’t say it"), but it’s passable. and it speaks clearly.

don't write nonsense beatboy. whatever gets you is signed only by lennon, elton john contributes with piano and the high vocal harmonica. the album is decent (and, in any case, quite gritty compared to mind games). the review doesn’t convince me. too many disagreeable interpretations and no description of the music.
