For heaven's sake! "Avatar" is a great entertainment movie, but what I didn't like was the focus on the special effects, as if: let's study the effects, the computer graphics, the settings, the characters, etc., and then, in the end, we’ll throw in some story. In my opinion, this is the difference with cinema of the past; in fact, before, the plot was built first and then they thought about how to realize it. It's like a writer who, instead of contemplating a story, focuses first on the book cover and then, based on that, develops everything. It can also work as a methodology, I don’t doubt that, but it feels a bit artificial to me. Hi everyone and good evening.

Great review, just like the movie itself! One of my favorite films, in fact, as I've mentioned in other cases, I'm not a big fan of "serious cinema", and when I watch a movie I love to relax and have fun. However, lately American cinema is becoming too "video game-like". An example could be "Avatar", great special effects, but the plot? Sometimes, when I watch certain movies, I grip the remote like a game controller and wait for the introductory video to finish so I can start the game, only to realize that I'm watching a movie and not playing on my PlayStation! Hello everyone and good afternoon.

Thank you for the comments and votes; I think albums like this truly deserve a listen because they are real examples of beautiful music! I renew my thanks and wish you both a great day.

Well, in Italy we also have people like Enrico Rava and Paolo Fresu (among others that I'm not going to mention here, including Roberto Gatto), who are not widely recognized but bring a lot of glory to our tormented country. The review is not bad, but the track-by-track is a bit difficult to read for me. I won't comment on the artist, as I know very little or nothing about him and he's not very appealing to me, so if I were to speak, I would speak poorly. Hello everyone and good evening.

The review is well written and reasoned. I won't comment on Lady Gaga because she's not really my thing; I find her way of presenting herself artificial and contrived, perhaps even more so than the music she produces. In other words, she produces a type of pop that doesn’t appeal to me, but, as the data shows, she effectively reaches the target audience she aims to interest. Hello everyone and have a good day.

You write very well! However, the length, in my opinion, somewhat penalizes the readability of the review, which may be difficult for those (e.g. non-subscribers to DB browsing the web for opinions about the film) who want to get a general idea of the movie without going into too much detail. Nevertheless, I reiterate, everything is written very well, and the critiques are well-founded. Hello everyone and have a good evening.

The right to criticize is always sacred, but it is equally fair to craft reviews that have at least a minimum of sense and logical flow; at this point, it’s only missing someone saying, "I hate Pink Floyd because I don’t like Ian Gillian’s voice," and we’re really all set! Hello everyone and have a great day.

I haven't listened to "Big Fun" yet, but I think I'll be making up for that soon! Anyway, Miles Davis was always a step ahead of everyone because (in my opinion) he could shape the new demands of the music market to fit his artistic vision. He managed to see the potential of a sound even when everyone criticized it, and then he reworked it all, putting his signature everywhere, narrating without words what life, the world, and people meant to him. He was a true genius, and as such, he can seem challenging at first, but once you let him in, that's it! He never leaves! Hi everyone and have a great evening.

Regardless of the technical discussion (as I've mentioned before, I don't have the expertise to tackle such analyses), I adore this album; it's fresh, engaging, in a nutshell, it's another piece of the musical experience of Miles Davis, an artist who struck me right away for a characteristic that very few musicians have today, which is the unique ability to craft not just good music but emotions as well. Every album by Davis is a kaleidoscope of sensations and emotional visions; in one way or another, it creates a world around you, and this can be observed both in his works under Prestige and during the "Tutu - Amandla - Doo Bop" period. To conclude, I believe that Miles's albums go far beyond the technical aspect (which is always present, mind you!), and this "Nefertiti," like all the works of this great musician, hits hard from the first listen, leaving you utterly surprised and fascinated. P.S. Excellent review. Hello everyone and have a good day.
