I wanted to write a review of this film myself, but this one is really well done! And to think I had already written it, what a fool!
The film is very beautiful, but it’s not a masterpiece. Clooney is masterful.

Miles Davis 1958 Miles

I thought it would cost less! Who knows... anyway, whatever the price, it's worth it! It's worth it because it not only includes all the studio albums, but also many live recordings and collections of unreleased tracks that are rare, unknown, etc., so you get a very, very accurate picture of almost all of Miles' production, leaving out the very latest albums and the very first ones, unfortunately including those beautiful recordings that Miles made with the first great quintet for Prestige.

In fact, there are very few reviews of "black music" in general on this site!

It's clear that a 3 for Miles is always relative... all of his albums deserve a 5! But you can't give five to "At Newport 1958" and five to "Kind Of Blue," "In A Silent Way," or "'Round About Midnight," just to name a few... that wouldn't be fair! That three doesn't mean the music on this album is of average beauty and interest; it just means it's a good album but doesn't reach the peaks of Davis's masterpieces.
