So guys, here’s the thing. I know Deep Purple pretty well, but I’ve only listened to a few full albums, namely the two I have (the must-haves In Rock and Made in Japan). I know bits and pieces from the other line-ups, but if you had to recommend another album for me to buy, regardless of the lineup, which one should I get? Burn?

I don't think the evaluation is overly bold; both this and "quintet" (which I will review shortly) are, to me, a 5. Two very different albums, but beautiful nonetheless. I repeat, Chambers in his solo career has not done anything new, nothing revolutionary, but he has made music that I adore. Yes, mine isn't an objective review, but I believe that Debaser is a site where one should provide a personal perspective on art; otherwise, I might as well read reviews by professional critics...

How much does it have to do with funk, you say? Then I’ll definitely give it a listen, just like I’ll listen to Taste the Band! I've never had the courage to approach that album because of the mixed reviews! Bold review, it would be a 4 but you deserve a 5 for the experiment ahahahah

It's obvious that mine is a simplification! There's a phrase that struck me a lot in this book, spoken in the first part by Odenigbo during a discussion with a friend. He says, "the only true identity for Africans is tribal" - said Padrone [the name with which Ugwu addresses Odenigbo] - "I am Nigerian because the white man invented Nigeria and imposed this identity on me. I am black because the white man ensured that Black was as far removed as possible from White. But before the white man arrived, I was Igbo."
And, written by a Nigerian, there must be some truth to it...

I can ask the EDITORS to remove the bold from the phrase "genocidi in Rwanda fra Hutu e Tutsi" and put it in the next one "guerra fra Nigeria e Biafra, a cavallo fra gli anni '60 e '70." Otherwise, it seems that the book is about Rwanda and not Nigeria. Thanks =)

a beautiful review for an incredible book... I read it in one day, and that almost never happens to me.

perfect review, whether one agrees or not. I’ve never read anything by Saramago, even though my Italian teacher adores him (I wonder how she reacted to his death...) and often recommends his texts, including this one... I will read...

I don't know him except by name. Lately, my musical exploration has shifted to other lands; singer-songwriters (whom I listened to a lot, albeit maybe just a few names, I'll admit) belong to the past, but who knows, maybe one day I'll return? Beautiful review, but one thing made my funky nose cringe a bit: there’s only one JB, my friends. Hail to the godfather of soul!
