Good job, kosmo, I completely agree... especially if one considers not only the social-political implications. You mentioned the 1930s/40s, and indeed it was a terrible time, but if one focuses on artistic production (literature, but also painting), one might doubt that such dark years were entirely so. Perhaps they were sociologically (even though I think we're worse off today), but not entirely. So a nice "who knows" fits perfectly.

Beautiful, the review of Melrose Place. Haha. The difference between this and Beverly Hills was that in this one they actually hooked up... Beverly Hills was more surreal. All good guys, they didn't drink, they didn't smoke, every now and then someone would stray and then regret it... there was the one who looked like Elvis and the one who looked like James Dean... and let’s not get started on the dialogues? No, Beverly is the best.

A hassle for sensitive types. Starting from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I was really disappointed. The plot is nonexistent, one of those "imagination in power"... just a few ideas and a couple of jokes saved me from falling asleep. And come on, at least they could have found a cute lead actress... what the hell!

True, the bass isn't exactly the "Flipper" bass, but I really like how it turned out. Both the sound and the lines are beautiful... Anyway, I didn't expect an album like this from them.

Jack Endino as a producer, and I have to say he did a really great job. Nose, I wouldn't know. Aside from the second one, I can't recall the name now, they never told me much. I followed them up to the third one (I don't even remember the title of the third), anyway. Then I listened to the last one in a friend's car and I didn't like it at all. Better as a drummer.

Generic is Generic, so starting from there is never wrong, but this has melodic openings that thirty years ago were a mirage. Then in this, the sounds, especially the bass, are really nice. Well, try starting from this too, but don’t stop because it’s a bit like starting with "Beyond." Take a look around the blogs that can be found online... if not, send me a private message. Cornell, those who don’t die meet again. You, with that username you chose, know it all too well :) Hehe, Cristiano Nuovosilicio is doing great. Definitely better than Grohl... if only he decided to go back to being a serious person. Drums and that’s it. Who’s going to tell him? Cornell, what’s to be done with these old glories that screw themselves over? Damn those little fish.

"current" I wouldn't know. It has certainly been a heavyweight, but lately, it hasn't been making any great films. Sweeney Todd is a good movie and has given some breath after two missteps (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which is anything but chocolate, and Corpse Bride, which is a mediocre film). In the new year, Alice in Wonderland is coming out... I don't have high hopes for it, it feels like fluff. Anyway, Tim Burton is always too much the same. He needs another Big Fish. Enough with the dark for a while.

One of the pieces of my childhood/adolescence, much more than just a cartoon or a product for kids... I still keep the pirate VHS. It's a shame it became so popular with those idiots in blackface wearing the Jack shirt.
