Look, I understand your argument and I see that it's referring to Italy, but it doesn't resonate with me. What we historically mean by "right" and "left" has been largely subverted, and in fact, "right" and "left" are two concepts much broader than what is often implied by the two words. Just taking the Italian example, Berlusconi, who should be the heir of a conservative and liberal "right," is the only progressive one - progressive in his own way, but still progressive - who cuts ties with the past - cutting ties with the past, the revolution, is "leftist" - distances himself, messianically deceives, and so on... while the "left" is merely opposition, a reaction to modernity, and as a reaction has become the very thing it initially opposed. The problem today is that there is no cultural hegemony because there is nothing cultural at all, and most importantly, the average person couldn't care less about anything cultural... in fact, they find it repulsive a priori, and that's why "left" and "right" only compete to strip everything of content... to placate the citizen. That's how I see it.

Hey, I'm glad this album is being liked enough... I think it's quite good, not original as Mary says, but definitely enjoyable... that's all I need, that I like it. Anyway, just reading the word "Mogwai" made me yawn. N E V E R

Ah, since the post-war period, you’re breaking down an already broken door... but it doesn’t seem to me that, from the post-war onwards, the "left" can boast anything truly cultural – but above all, what will the "left," which is solely determinism and extreme materialism, ever do with art? – and above all it’s impossible to create culture from the "right," difficult if the world thinks that your inner grammar is stuff for timid souls. Anyway, there’s a video on YouTube of Casa Pound, and on the wall, besides Tolkien, whom I detest, there are the various "right-wing" intellectuals that they consider valid... and they are the early 900s, for better or worse, just like all of the 800s. The present belongs to no one.

I read the first two paragraphs. Art and culture do not belong to the "left," nor will they ever belong to it. Above all, much of the "culture" attributed to the left is boring, rationalistic, and abstract. But the underlying problem is that discussions are held without proper cause... one thinks of "right-wing" culture and thinks of Tolkien? And Brasillach, La Rochelle, Evola, Ortega, Malaparte, etc.? It's like saying: I despise Gigi D'Alessio, so I despise Italian singer-songwriters.

I haven't read the comments or the review. What caught my attention was only that "the (far) right has never actually had all this history of artistic expression" ...what can I say? You missed out on the best of the best... let's go ahead and cover the entire early 900s.

Nice review... I don't know this record. I think I've seen it in the store, but I didn't pick it up thinking that Coltrane was already out of the band... the anecdote about why he got kicked out is delicious. The type of story where Coltrane was so out of it that during the concert, when it was his time to play, there was silence. Davis would turn around and see him picking his nose... and, says Davis, that sometimes he even ate it :) what amazing people... then for him it was unbearable because he hadn't stopped. I need to decide to tackle this Miles properly, especially since everything I have of his I really enjoy, to use a euphemism. I have a particular fondness for 'Round About Midnight which is from the year before... okay, you’ve convinced me: it's next.

Great review. I went to the link... I don't like them, but above all: Young Marble Giants the most overlooked band of the moment!

I have to say, Nes, that many people who seem like idiots to me end up being likable, theatrical, like Skeletron/Giusty, who dances on "ci fa o ci è" and in the end, he manages to make me smile. You don't. You’re just foolish from start to finish, hopelessly so. 1) Recommend me a documentary that I reviewed right on Debaser. 2) Tell me what you’re doing here when before they banned you, you were shouting to the four winds "better Ondarock," which is something that makes no sense at all? No, just no. 3) I insult whoever I want and as much as I want: it doesn’t depend on the Camorra or the Italian state... it’s just that I like it that way, and you’re an idiot, and it’s normal for people to call you that. 4) I couldn’t care less about what they say to you. I’ve never wished cancer upon anyone. I’ve lived through the experience of seeing someone I loved most consumed by cancer, and I would never have the strength to not only wish it but even to think such a thing. 5) I don’t care about you; could you do the same? Danke. 6) It’s late, I really have to go. Until the next hearing.
