"Everyone gets angry and complains" ... and they comment on it too, I would add.

@tarpit: comment 71 was a clear and hopefully friendly response to the first two lines of the previous comment.

Tarpit, you have misinterpreted my comments. I never said that this is the best of all possible worlds. Certainly, each of us must strive to make it so for ourselves. What I did say is that yes, we are privileged and we complain about everything without being in the right to do so. Precisely because others are much worse off than we are. For work reasons (but also emotional ones), I have had the opportunity to travel a lot and to engage with people from various social levels. My experience has convinced me that democracy, in any case, is the lesser evil. From my point of view, comment 83 by Stoney represents a partial view of the problems in those countries. There is not only the bad Western man, but also an incredible disproportion of wealth in those countries. For the rest, everyone is free to see it as they wish. Let it be clear, however, that my comments are not of a political nature and that I did not intervene in favor of De Lorenzo. I just wanted to criticize some of Stoney's excessive positions. With whom, by the way, it is always interesting to engage (which has happened often), because I find him an intelligent guy who, however, often tends to lean too much towards the negative side of everything.

I propose De Lorenzo for the government and Stoney for the opposition.

It's certainly a nice catchphrase, but unfortunately it's not enough. Those with a better solution step forward... Yes, because anyone can destroy, but it takes someone to rebuild afterwards.

But I can agree with comment number 20 as well; it's in the subsequent ones that Stoney has spouted absurdities that perhaps exist in the heavens but not on earth. And let me tell you, bonny91, it’s better that you take a dictionary and look up the meaning of the word sophist. I believe I'm as far removed from that statement as possible.

I talked about "too much studying" and "words alone." It's logical that lifestyles change; I didn't think it was necessary to highlight that. And yes, the substance is always the same. Values throughout history have not always been equal; personally, I believe they have often been manipulated by those in power. But I also think there are more people living well today compared to the past. It's just that perhaps these people find a way to complain about this too, but more because they have become so accustomed to well-being that they always want something more or something different. I would suggest that all these people take a trip to the Middle East, or to rural China, or to northern Brazil to understand that we do not have the right to complain.

And when money wasn't at the center of thoughts, power was still there. What has changed? Although it is still not enough, there is more respect for life today than in the past.

"The 'facts' say that no pre-industrial society has ever dared to abandon a worldview that placed human life at the center of the universe, through a culture made of ritual and spirituality that endured for millennia. Only we have been able to sweep everything aside and place money and the market at the heart of our thoughts." Let me tell you that this is a huge load of nonsense. By spirituality, do you also mean the witch hunts? By humans at the center of the universe, do you mean the conquering empires or the dominated peoples, enslaved and deeply violated?

At this point, I believe that too much studying can be harmful... words alone have never built anything...
