Grand Funk Railroad Caught in the Act

It depends on which version of "C.I.T." you have. In the remastered version, T.N.U.C. lasts 10 minutes with about half of that taken up by the drum solo. However, if you have the vinyl or the first version of the CD, you actually find a "cut" version for space reasons. As for the "softened" sound, I don't think it's an appropriate term. I agree on the less devastating aspect. As for the rest, it's a matter of taste, of course.

Me-me-ga-ga-lo-lo-man, thank you for recommending us a new group!

Great as always! I have to listen to this album. I really like them a lot. I have "Argus," which I find exceptional, and "There's the rub," which features the beautiful "Persephone." I must also have a DVD of one of their concerts lost somewhere. Man, what a mess I'm in!

I've only heard "Mood Swings" by them, which I had read good reviews about, but I didn't like it much. I don't think they are for me.

Good review as always, but a bit lengthy and with too many... "fucks". As for the proposal, I'll decline. I heard something on the tube, but I'm missing that rough sound of the 80s and the sandpaper choirs. I don't know, maybe I'm just nostalgic, but in this genre, no modern band has convinced me yet...

@adrian: what can I say, thank you very much for the compliment. If I was able to convey to you the same excitement that music generates in me, it means I've achieved my goal. @superboia: I'm sorry about the "theft," but keep in mind that the beautiful "Live in Bosnia" is always available as well.

I absolutely agree about the raw power. But the GFR have been good and brave, especially for their ability to evolve. As for your review, don't keep us waiting too long!

However, I hear everyone say that the early albums by Grand Funk are the best... but where do we place "We're an American Band"? And "E Pluribus Funk"? I believe that up until "Born to Die," they produced some really solid albums. Some more than others, but always at a high level.

Oh yes, the Purple are truly immortal! I don't own this bootleg and therefore cannot vote for it. Well done Deep-frenk, great review.
