A very beautiful and heartfelt review. By the way, I have always wondered why you place Gabriel above everyone, when your own nickname would suggest more towards Hammill. Of the latter's solo work, I only know the first three albums. All of them very valid.

Joejoeblues: well, I know all the official works of AIC, they are at the top of my favorites in that specific genre. However, I still don't agree with your reasoning. Facelift is more varied than the subsequent ones, but not truly heterogeneous in styles. Not at least like the albums by Timoria. And mind you, this isn't an assessment of the validity of the proposal. I prefer AIC 100 times over. The harmonies of Timoria in their melodies are really at the opposite end of those of Timoria. And the pairing of Cantrell and Pedrini? Just because he plays guitar and does the vocals? No, we're not on the same page.

And I really don't feel those "more than evident influences" at all... just because the guitars are more distorted than in previous albums, should they resemble AIC? Renga's voice is as far from Staley's as it gets. The guitars don't have that monolithic and hyper-distorted sound of Cantrell. AIC has always played albums keeping their style more or less unchanged (except for those acoustic ones). The Timoria vary greatly, even within the same album. If you say that Timoria liked the music of AIC, fine, but honestly, I don't find it in their music.
