Journey Departure

Although I have a strong 70s background, I actually prefer "Escape." Of course, "Patiently" is their best track for me...

Let's say I put it at the end of the various listens I promised myself to do. :) Do you prefer "Infinity" or "Escape"?

@polkatulk: let's say that the most well-known works from that period are the soundtracks for Scorsese's films (Raging Bull, King of Comedy, The Color of Money).

First of all, I want to thank all the patrons. For once, I didn't focus on technical aspects, and thus I neglected to mention the excellent work of Lanois. However, I can't quite grasp the discussion about his "hand." Lanois has produced artists who are vastly different from one another (Peter Gabriel, U2, Dylan, Eno), so I believe his "hand" has always been in service of the artist. In the same year, 1987, U2 released "The Joshua Tree," which doesn’t seem to me to be so close in sound to this album. As for the discussion on humility, it is clearly my personal interpretation. I don't know Robertson personally. It's the idea I've formed based on what I've read about his solo career, particularly regarding the creation of his most famous album "Music for the Native Americans," where he sought the approval of the natives for the release of that album. Regarding the Band, Robbie has always had control over the group’s songwriting and, as far as I know, decided to disband it to end on a high note, at a time when they were experiencing a creative lull. Nevertheless, I reiterate, this is my interpretation, what I perceive from his music.

I haven't listened to this album in full yet, just a couple of songs in the compilation box "Essential." But they're really great, and so are you.

j@r: I repeat, ridiculous discussions. It probably depends on the people you've been talking to. And then you make the same mistake with certain generalizations. Anyway, these are your tastes, which are respectable, but to avoid seeming pretentious, try to highlight that they are your opinions. Otherwise, someone might actually believe you. ;D

I preface that the 4 in this review is partly due to my ignorance. :) However, I found it heavy and difficult to follow, although, as always, it was definitely well-written and original.

What absurd remarks dictated by absolute prejudice. When mind and heart converge in a single direction, that’s where art lies. Everything else is trivialities thrown to the wind. Otherwise, I could simply wake up one particularly inspired morning and rediscover myself as the new Picasso.

Panic, you know you've piqued my curiosity with this band? Which album do you recommend I start with?

@roby: go ahead, this is a great record. @telespalla: I can't help but agree! @dlf: oh yes, long live pop! Anyway, the triad "Crime"-"Crisis"-"Even" fits within the parameters of progressive for me. All the formal, conceptual, and technical prerequisites are there. I was also expecting you in the review of Lucifer's Friend... did you listen to "Banquet"?
