Scaruffi is a guy with square balls. Because before he speaks, he had and still has the good sense to study, inform himself, understand, and connect. Then there's this gem. There’s already some sharp one who insinuated that Scaruffi's website is a hoax because to listen ONLY to the rock music contained in his History of Rock in 6 volumes would take 5 years of UNINTERRUPTED listening (not more than one listen per album, obviously). Considering he also wrote an Encyclopedia on New Age, one on the Avant-Garde, one on Jazz, writes poetry, teaches Mathematics, and does many other nice things, those sharp ones (not the fools) come to understand that he's just a charlatan. Stoney has said many nice words but starts from ridiculous premises. Scaruffi is not hated because he gives 7.5 to Unknown Pleasures and 9 to The Pop Group. He is "hated" (not personally, but it is annoying) because he doesn’t argue his points, he can’t argue, he talks about things he hasn’t assimilated (it’s math, folks) and despite everything, he gains credibility for no apparent reason. Enlighten me.

Don't twist Stoney's words. Scaruffi didn't dedicate his life to that discipline, and what is written on his site cannot (absolute fact) all have been written by him. You're talking about someone – it's been proven, it takes little (the days are 24 hours for everyone) – who talks about things he does NOT know or knows only superficially. He knows how to sell himself, and unfortunately in this world being is appearing.

I don’t criticize Scaruffi’s judgments, not even Scaruffi himself. In the end, any asshole can open a website and fill it with bullshit. I criticize those who “follow him” because idolizing and even vaguely respecting someone who speaks in a prophetic tone about things they don’t even know (it’s mathematically impossible, and thus objectively speaking, that he has listened to all that stuff) is truly foolish. It’s one thing to respect someone like Guglielmi (I don't like him, but...) who has worked his ass off for thirty years, has been part of all the scenes, is known by his face, and therefore deserves respect. But Scaruffi, no. If someone has to chase after a figure surrounded by an occult aura (no one knows who the fuck he is or if he has actually done all those things he claims to have done) who insists he has listened to, seen, read, and watched all that stuff when, instead, it’s impossible, then they're just desperate: they need to fill the void in their head with the bullshit of the first asshole who comes along selling it as chocolate.

NO. I'm sorry. The first video game that comes to mind as very remotely "artistic" is Final Fantasy VII: Oscar-worthy plot. Aside from that, I don't really know much. I stopped gaming seriously when the PS2 came out. Aloha.

"He's someone who has studied and listens to music critically." No, it has been disproven with numerical and objective data that he DID NOT listen to all that stuff. Believing Scaruffi is like believing in nothing.
