"one of the best American singer-songwriters" here you throw in a bit of provocation because the question is impossible. I've been to America and we would need to talk state by state, area by area, "scene," niches, or zones of interest, because each one is a world of its own: I hope I’ve made myself clear. And if we end up doing Bob Dylan Vs Townes Van Zandt? Nahh. Nice nice review.

My favorite was the 3. Even though I never understood what the difference was between Mario the Flying and Mario the Flying dressed as a teddy bear. These things.

Well, I have respect for those who kept that hardcore scene alive in the Italic 80s, but that state of apparent self-isolation has never convinced me. I'm 18, and I've never lived the panc era of the boot nor do I know anyone who has (I live in Val Brembana, hehe), but listening to a few records (rare and obtained in mp3, necessarily) and reading something from some veterans (Philopat and other very panc figures), one thing emerges: Negazione, Declino, Raw Power, Kina, and the like were almost ten years late, and I understand Vortex's point. These guys arrived when the Virus (if I'm not mistaken) had already been shut down, the Great Conspiracy of Pordenone had run its course, and much of the "dream" had already faded. The true panc era in Italy for me is felt in Gaznevada, CCCP, Bloody Riot, Nabat, the early Rats, the split between Wretched and Indigesti, in RAF Punk. All stuff that’s hard to find, which I know little about and can’t dive deeper into. Is there any old-timer around who in the meantime has turned to Pooh and is selling stuff like that here on Debaser? God forbid. Right now I have 100 euros to spend. Is there any other old-timer who knows the compilations "P.E.A.C.E/War" (a mix of English, American, and Italian people) and "Let Them Eat Jellybeans" (I’m not sure if that’s the correct title... it must be a hardcore compilation from the very early 80s, sponsored by some veteran of the scene)?? The review is very enjoyable to read, but alas, I’ve never tolerated Abort (a sort of Italian Darby Crash with all the faults that come with it).

But what criticisms? I repeat, I’m hyper-neutral on the subject and the prejudice was stuffed into my head by the circumstances, what can I do? I agree with Jurix while I don’t understand your "one more thing"... it's like saying that the true punk is the Exploited, while the Minutemen are something more or less :-)

Offensive in tone? Mysteries of faith. I stand by my opinion. This Cavalera is a brave soul who started playing at 15 in a Brazilian suburb, but he said what he had to say. Now enough. Even Soulfly, the counterfeit of Roots experiments (that was a real album). And I tell you this with complete indifference. I haven't been listening to this medal much for a couple of years now, and before I listened to it because, I repeat, the merdal was coming into my house by osmosis. Ciau'

Nosebleed, Max Cavalera (respect for how the Cavalera brothers were born in a very poor Brazil, of course) is one of those who represents the stagnation, the "let's all get along at any cost" of the genre. What consistency? The same riff and the same "fuck the power" for over ten years. Happy for you.

A band that has run out of gas since the late '80s, like their peers XXX (the name starts with M and ends with Etallica). Just imagine now. And to think that in Merdal there are people like Voivod who play around and write records with real guts, only to be played at noon at Goz of Merdal... It's a matter of audience. The average merdallaro prefers Max Cavalera, who has been writing the same Marxist-apathetic-stupid song for 20 years while jumping around like a big monkey on stage. I'm speaking from experience. I was born in a medallaro neighborhood. Working-class neighborhood? No, just a bunch of mama's boys. Spot-on review, forgive my outburst :-)

Ezekiel reminds me a bit of Talino from "Paesi Tuoi," but at least he was clever. Chilling page.
