Ah, I'm bringing back the human case number 1 from DeBaser (the one known for the now-famous "your de-rank is in free fall") to point out a couple of facts. You - it's well established - talk and express yourself about things you don't know (the worst flaw of the human race). Just on this record, there's a Hendrix cover, a blues piece with slide guitar, and an eleven-minute jam. You say "same old stuff," but in hardcore, there's funk, there's psychedelia, there's jazz, there's blues, and there are even people like the Butthole Surfers, who at that time were considered avant-garde. You reduce a vast and crucial phenomenon in the history of Rock (it's not just me saying this) to "same old stuff." Makes me laugh (I just wanted to publicly call you out).

With my Firefox, I see everything; we need to see if it's visible to others. Right?

The Rip Offs Got A Record

I listen to this out of curiosity. In the '90s, there was a decent revival (the Japanese Teengenerate or the New Bomb Turks, to name a couple), but, basically, nothing special. I'm curious to hear these.

I just have to smoke a joint. If I smoke two bongs, even the Pooh are stoners :)

As always, since these terms mean everything and nothing, it's important to make some distinctions. If X represents Monster Magnet and Kyuss (the two classics), neither Fu Manchu nor Clutch belong to that category (though I quite like both, just to be clear).

The term "stoner" began to be used to refer to those groups that "stoned" ("stoned" = high from smoking marijuana, approximately) and that made you "trip," so there’s more than one reference to psychedelia. Fu Manchu and Clutch are neither psychedelic nor "trippy," yet some clever person has conveniently bundled them into the same container as Kyuss and Monster Magnet. The truth, according to my data, is this, but it’s not just mine. Anyone could come to this conclusion.

:) I stumbled upon it on youtubba. But is that really Burroughs in the last scene?
