Great review, and devastating demo (but is the original available?). However, I don't agree with you, Mr. Moustache, about Cobain. For instance, I think that Nevermind is the most natural of the three Nirvana albums. Let's be clear, Cobain wrote "songs" in the literal sense of the term; he was a "pop" songwriter. I always found him more natural when he wrote pieces "Beatles-style" rather than when he tried to imitate the underground gods of the '80s (Butthole Surfers, Black Flag, and so on). That the production of Nevermind is terrible is another matter. And I would even dare to say that he was never a whore. Indie was imploding and dozens of bands (including Pixies, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr., to name the first indie monuments that come to mind) were moving to major labels, keeping in mind that Sub Pop was on the brink of collapse in '89... Overall, nice comeback. PS: one last detail: as can be seen from Cobain's top 50 favorite albums, I don't think he even knew who the Rolling Stones and Blue Cheer were. :)

I usually prefer Americans to the English. But for bands like the Deviants, Hawkwind, or Third World War, I always make an exception. In England, there weren't as many freaks as there were in the USA, but the few there were were even more out there than those in San Francisco. :)

"<< for which I went all out sending texts (at least two 50 euro SIM cards have tragically been used up) >> Damn, I hadn't even read it. But I hope you said it just for laughs. Otherwise, you need to be committed."

For me, it would have been better if they had done more tracks from Dirt and Tripod, but you can't really complain. With DuVall, they were very brave, precisely because it has nothing to do with Layne. He’s a great singer with an amazing voice, but like many other voices. Layne, on the other hand, had a unique voice, even though it wasn't as powerful and expansive. I used to be annoyed by the new singer, but now I’ve realized that comparisons just can't be made. And that's better this way... Ah, at the concert, there was Magda Gomes, seriously! :)

Sooner or later I’ll manage to see them, the two chubby ones. What a lineup I’ve missed out on here!

Ashi, I have to say that you’ve developed a certain degree of self-irony. I remember when Giusty used to tease you and you were trying to explain Aristotle to him in the comments... Good times!

Oh yes Taurus, these don't have a strong and original identity like Bullet for My Valentine!! :) (PS: I know their singles, and they seemed very gay to me!)
