In the first paragraph, you generalize incorrectly; the golden age of wave and hardcore is certainly not the '80s. That said, I would have included "hardcore new school" among the genres because these come from the same hole as those posers the Cro-Mags. To me, they're useless bands, but it is what it is.

Yes, I didn’t say they suck. Maybe I exaggerated, but if we’re starting again with the kindergarten bullshit like "you’re friends with that one" or the other lovely one "listen to him, he has more experience than you," it’s not me who’s exaggerating. But you know I discovered these guys after finding out about the Sleepers because they’re just as ridiculous? They’re horridly beautiful. The most deranged and poorly made post-punk I've ever heard. Later they changed their name to 100 Flowers and some of them ended up in Trotsky Icepick, which was a band with the intention of changing their name every year. In the end, they gave up the idea due to song rights issues... Crazy with capital Zs.

No, but I want to talk about the rest, not about the emos. Which anyway is not an "existential" trend (hahahah), but a matter of "brands" like the others. The singer of these, who is the popular figure among these emos, has a clothing line that all the emos wear. They’re always deaf, nothing existential about it. Besides, it’s not a topic for the "cultured," it doesn’t suit you. :)
