But how much doesn't J&R make you laugh?

Eh, boredom. A nasty thing.

The eponymous demo was much better. This swings me between a 2 and a 3. Maybe that's already a lot.
Dan Auerbach Keep It Hid

Uh, I was just listening to it these days. My judgment is a bit less enthusiastic (some tracks just don't convince me), but it's a nice little record.

I suspect that 3 out of 4 records in this genre are complete crap. Every noise junk from some Japanese artist is, for some reason, ALWAYS hyped up by any critic. This is a guarantee of the product's quality. I've said it all.

With this extreme noise, everyone, including the last idiot, can become musicians. Bah, happy for you.

Idol, without a doubt.

But wasn't the "offbeat riff" something from the Jamaicans? :) Anyway, in my opinion, in Bleach you can hear a bit of the Melvins (but also the Flipper), yet it remains a thoroughly enjoyable album. Cobain's extraordinary sense of melody is already present here. With the same production as Nevermind, this one would have sold a good amount too. I'd bet a testicle on that.

@Blech: click on "Analphabetapolothology" in the review, and you can stream all their tracks. Or look for the collection on some blogspot. @super: I can't tell you anything about the cover. As for Sting, all I can say is that he's an idiot (never liked the Police either; if I want to listen to reggae, I’ll listen to Peter Tosh or the good old Bob, not four posh English guys :)) @maryg: my favorite is definitely "Oh, Messy Life"!

Uh, the names are good. Death Cab for Cutie (the first ones remind me a lot of Low), Bon Iver (which is just Justin Vernon down there), Iron & Wine, Yo La Tengo, and Blonde Redhead are all very digestible for me. Good suggestion :)
