Storm Corrosion Storm Corrosion

The first flop of two big names = 2 flops. Sleep-inducing, without interesting insights, I would say it’s almost a useless work, just as the wait for it was useless. If one wants to dive into minimalist dark ambient, there are already plenty of bands that offer much better options. Let’s hope these two return to what they do best! Excellent review.
Rush Clockwork Angels

In my opinion, their most beautiful album in the last 20 years. Geddy's voice used to tire me out after 2 songs, but with this album, I enjoy it from the first to the last.
Blackfield Welcome to my DNA

Not as good as the first job, but definitely better than the second. The final quadriptych is spectacular, it's a pity that several previous tracks are not at the same level. I won't miss them on Tuesday at the Milan date.

I quote COOLERMASTER. Radiohead would have liked to have released an album like this, also because if it had just carried their name on the cover, it would have sold a few million copies. Whereas now, only a few tens of thousands of eardrums get to enjoy it.
Edvard Munch Occhi negli occhi

Beautiful, heartfelt, and essential. It hits the mark. Just three details that have not been mentioned: the tree, in addition to creating a figurative division in the painting, certainly refers to the symbolism of the apple tree of Adam and Eve, thus alluding to an ancestral conflict between man and woman. In the woman's half, a house appears in the distance, likely evoking the desire for marital stability. Behind the man's back, on the other hand, almost hidden, is a dark flower of desire, which will lead the man to unhappiness after becoming a slave to passion.

Nice review... A bit too enthusiastic though, guys! Anathema are always Anathema, and being biased, I also find it hard to judge their work purely critically. What’s certain is that it’s been a good 7 years since their last studio album, and some important pieces have been lost along the way. Some chapters sound a bit too bright and 'syrupy'. They are not the Anathema of the previous 4/5 masterpieces that break my heart with every listen. That said, Thin Air and Universal are exceptional in my opinion. It’s true that you can’t give a rating of 5 to an album like this, because then in comparison, the predecessors would deserve a 6 or 7!
Porcupine Tree Live @ Pistoia Blues - 14.07.10

Present!... right against the barriers in front of the stage, just in front of Danny, as usual. Too bad about the shortened setlist from Anathema, but ever since the organizers announced the presence of 2 more bands before them, it was clear they wouldn't play for more than 45 minutes. Honestly, 'Universal' live gave me chills; this song alone was worth the entire concert (go find the video that was posted on YouTube). I agree, Duncan Patterson is heavily missed, sigh!
I saw Porcupine Tree for the third time and there are no words to judge their precision and fidelity in performing their songs live. Absolutely outstanding. The open-air acoustics did the rest.
Katatonia Night Is The New Day

Incredible to read so many negative reviews of an album that undoubtedly lays another stone on the path of creative maturity for Katatonia. I still haven't been able to find 'underwhelming' or 'boring' in any of the tracks on the album... But maybe I'm biased, now devoted and dependent on the decadent sounds of the five Swedes. The only flaw I've found is probably a somewhat unoriginal nod to Dark Tranquillity, particularly in some synth passages. Not a bad review, but it's a shame you dismissed 'Idle Blood' and 'Inheritance', which in my opinion are two absolute sonic masterpieces.
Paradise Lost Faith Divides Us - Death Unites Us
Voto:
The video that preceded the single in its simplicity is claustrophobic to the nth degree. I really enjoyed the album, but I confess I am definitely biased. The bonus track 'Cardinal zero' is a must-listen. Just like the two orchestral versions in the limited edition. The missing link between Sisters of Mercy and Metallica has struck again.

They never disappoint. Music with a capital M.
