John Woo Hard Boiled
Voto:
I don't know why, but I was under the impression that Bullet In the Head was the last film of Woo Made in Hong Kong. You would have earned a five in any case for reviewing such a masterpiece, but the truth is the review, particularly appreciated since I am indeed a huge admirer of “this” John Woo, is nonetheless impeccable and detailed. Perhaps an exaggerated film. But never trivial. It's a shame that Woo has taken a path that I really don't like at all (I mentioned it in the review of his new film).
Maurizio Cattelan Tre bambini impiccati
Voto:
With all due respect for the reviewer and for those who appreciate this work (Cattelan), this piece makes me really want to give myself a scratch.
Mike Shinoda Kurt Cobain
Voto:
In the work, there's a mistake... Goodness, it has already been pointed out by slimsensation (comment 72), but also by the green manalishi (comment 60). But giving it just one for this seems excessive to me. Quite a bleak depiction. But it doesn't tell me much.
David Bowie Station To Station
Voto:
The definitive review of Station To Station. I’ll add it to my favorites.
Steven Seagal Songs From The Crystal Cave
Voto:
What absurdity. I’m waiting for a duet with Carla Bruni. Or, at the very least, with Violante Placido. Five all the way, anyway. You never know. Perhaps old Steven will happen to be around here one of these days...
Brian Harnetty & Bonnie "Prince" Billy Silent City
Voto:
I've heard that last sentence somewhere before... Tell the truth, blech! Just say it! Anyway, the review isn't bad. As usual, poetic. Maybe a bit too much for my tastes. And you didn't even include a “malafemmina” to insult in the comments later. And that really disappoints me. P.S. I got that Bonnie record you recommended to me a while ago (five, six hours) ago. I'll let you know.
CCCP - Fedeli Alla Linea 1964-1985 Affinità-Divergenze fra il Compagno Togliatti e Noi
Voto:
Dear Quentin Quire, I didn't understand the review either. However, the inclusion of references and quotes related to the world of politics, which is now more imaginary than real, is also inevitable. Among other things, I think the CCCP have, rightly or wrongly, taken advantage of that a bit. Still, this is their best album (also because there would be a lot to discuss about the quality of the others). For me, it's between a four and a five.
Lou Reed Metal Machine Music
Voto:
Lou was serious. Great record. A side note: in my opinion, Jaguars and Jazzmasters, although (now) quite expensive, have a rather insubstantial sound. Of course, if you’re Tom Verlaine, you can still make them sound good. But this, just to change things up, is another story.
Lester Grinspoon e James B. Bakalar Marijuana la medicina proibita
Voto:
All in all, I can't disagree with your point of view, dear Geb. That said, I was mainly referring to the use of light drugs, and I’d like to add that even using these from my perspective is not in any way positive or constructive—it’s actually much better to watch matches from the Russian league. Sending you a hug. With respect, your Carlo Cimmino.
