Queen + Paul Rodgers The Cosmos Rocks
Voto:
Not that it’s terrible, but there’s nothing particularly interesting about it—just a fairly classic rock album, played competently. I’d say it’s average for today’s rock music, nothing special that would warrant purchasing it; feel free to download it if you want, but I’d be cautious about spending twenty euros. A friend lent it to me, but I’m not sure if I’ll burn it for myself yet.
Freddie chose that name for the band, and Freddie brought that extra touch of genius that allowed Queen to stand out during a time when they were already established and dominating the rock scene with bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, The Who, The Rolling Stones, just to name a few. It was a time when, if you wanted to become an important rock band, you either had to come up with something different or remain anonymous. Brian and Roger are two excellent musicians, and their contribution to the band has certainly been significant; without Freddie, they would have been a good rock band but would have never broken through. Freddie’s input, especially in the early years, was crucial for their emergence, and if they are rich and famous now, they owe it mainly to him. Choosing to continue playing and making records is legitimate; Paul Rodgers is a great singer. However, continuing to use the name Queen is profoundly unfair; it’s just a way to sell more. And then there’s also John Deacon, and I wouldn’t underestimate the importance he had in the band. And let’s face it, Queen without Freddie is like ā€œpane e nutellaā€ without nutella. Not that plain bread is terrible, but come on, there’s a big difference.
AC/DC If You Want Blood.. You've Got It

Tastes are tastes, and I realize that AC/DC's music may not appeal to everyone, but honestly, this live performance is practically perfect. Excellent audio quality, perfectly balanced sound, energetic and intense performance, without any slightest flaw from anyone; the audience is appropriately highlighted, and the editing is great. Perhaps one could argue that it’s a bit short, but aside from that, I can't think of any live albums of better quality than this.
