for me the best after automatic for the people. it’s raw, it’s rock, it’s played, it’s really far from the current sound of the band. one of the rem albums that appeals even to those who listen to hard rock.
Pink Floyd Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd (disc 1)

As far as I'm concerned, this compilation is "the trailer of the Pink Floyd movie." In other words, it's a good introduction for those who are unfamiliar with the band. This is its only meaning. It’s far from being the best of Pink Floyd; it’s a taste, a somewhat enjoyable one, but still just a taste. You can’t summarize the career of such a group in 2 CDs. Moreover, there’s the issue of concept albums, and the fact that tracks taken out of their context sound significantly different. I'm not against compilations in general, but they need to be done right. Take BONFIRE by AC/DC, for example; that’s a real compilation, packed with a mountain of live unreleased material, alternative versions of some tracks, and their most famous album, BACK IN BLACK, totaling 5 CDs. There are bands for which the classic greatest hits may be acceptable, but for others, I repeat, the only usefulness is to provide a decent introduction for those who don’t know them.

great live, not much to add. excellent review. in fact, it's a somewhat short live album, but unfortunately at the time with vinyls, well, there were some logistical issues. with just one, you certainly couldn't fit an entire concert, but two were always a risk since double albums generally sold less. unfortunately, that was the way it was. in the end, the same thing happened with BAND OF GYPSYS by Hendrix, LIVE AT LEEDS by The Who, two other historic live albums, and also the good MADE IN EUROPE by Deep Purple. nonetheless, it remains, in my opinion, an album that perfectly encapsulates the live spirit of the Stones.

WELL, yes, maybe it’s not a masterpiece, but it’s definitely a great album. It’s also a matter of taste; this was, for example, Gillan's favorite. Still, here they show they can navigate through different musical territories. It was a transitional album.

Sorry starblazer, but the follow-up to nevermore in sheer heart attack, both for lyrics and music, is LILY OF THE VALLEY, not dear friends.

Sorry, this is off-topic, but I have a favor to ask. If any of you own the BONFIRE box set, could you tell me if the sound quality of the live recordings is on par? To be clear, I mean at the same level as If You Want Blood? I'm not referring to the performance, which I'm sure is great, but more specifically to the audio quality and output volume of the recording. Unfortunately, in the only review I found, those details, which seem important to me, aren’t mentioned. Thank you.

the era of the White Boar, beautiful, the song, I don’t know the whole album, the guitar solos are very nice. of course, though, the girl in the video is really ugly!

Generally, you empty yourself with Lambrusco on Sunday afternoons, but yesterday I was sober. I work on a farm, but I’ve been home for two weeks with a sprained ankle, I'm bored and I can’t even drink, you know how it is, the doctor says it's better not to. My grandfather always told me that three glasses of Lambrusco a day are a cure-all for any ailment, but evidently, official medicine doesn’t agree!
