Bruce Springsteen The essential Bruce Springsteen
Voto:
Nice collection, I don’t have it, but reading the tracklist it seems well put together, especially that third CD of rarities. Definitely better than the skimpy GH, which was indeed too synthetic. In short, it confirms that, if done well, compilations can also be worthy of the utmost respect. Anyway, as a box set, I think the best one is the LIVE '75-'85, which unfortunately is still on my list of albums to get, one way or another...

Welcome back Donnie! I'm not particularly crazy about U2, but this is definitely a great album. The initial one-two-three is excellent. Where The Streets Have No Name is perhaps their absolute best song, or at least for me it's in the running with Pride and Out Of Control.
Clint Eastwood Gran Torino

Clint Eastwood. I haven't seen the film yet, but I trust it will be good. A few months ago I watched Changeling and it moved me. Great actor, extraordinary director.
The Rolling Stones Let It Bleed

perhaps the best of the Stones? Hard to say. Immortal band.

mmm...the cover looks like it's taken from Doom, do you remember Doom II? When you picked up the green plasma cannon, it had such a delightful face, so beautiful.

Hey LARROK, whether Pluto is a fake or not frankly couldn't matter less to me, especially since I have about ten myself. That said, this isn't paternalism; I just don't understand certain things. I mean, if the music you listen to is so much better than what Pluto listens to, then why don't you spend your free time listening to it, or leaving comments on the records you like, explaining why you like them and what you feel when you listen to them, instead of wasting time posting useless comments on records you don't appreciate? If someone truly loves music, they don't need to trash others' tastes or convince others what is better or worse; they're just happy and content with what they listen to. And if you really intend to save the world from bad music, then you could also give some listening advice to Pluto instead of just saying he listens to stuff for lobotomized idiots. Frankly, it just makes you look like the typical pretentious kid who's showing off. What's wrong with considering music as simple entertainment? What else should it be, sorry? What do you do with CDs, do you eat them by chance? Or do you build houses with them?

X LARROK, In this world, there are also things that are more serious and more important than music; to call someone a lobotomized idiot just because they listen to Britney Spears means you haven't understood a damn thing about how the world works. X PLUTO, if this is the music you like, if it truly makes you feel good, then you should listen to it and you should review it whenever you feel like it. For what it’s worth, I’m on your side, and I totally agree with comment 50.

Sincere congratulations to Mr. 100 Reviews. Wow, 100. You write well, you know music, but above all, you seem to truly love it. The review is really well done. Nice phrase about the walls/prejudices that often, unfortunately, influence our listening.
Scorpions Tokyo Tapes

This is a tremendous live album. I must say that, in general, I have always placed more emphasis on live albums, not just for the Scorpions but for everyone. For me, the live performance is the true test to gauge a band's qualities. Over time, this has led me to listen to fewer artists who have made great studio records but little to nothing live, and conversely to celebrate those who, even without an enviable studio production, have delivered outstanding live performances. Rock, for me, is music made more for stages than for studios. Anyway, here the old guitarist Uli Jon Roth is truly spectacular. For genre lovers, it's an album to have.
