The 3rd and the Mortal Sorrow

@ForeverYoung: thank you for the correction; I learned something new! :D Some time ago, after reading your personal profile, I sent you a private message, also asking you for information about the profession of translator...but you didn’t reply :( I’m waiting patiently.

Ann-Mari Edvardsen sang on the latest album by Antestor (unblack metal... they didn't make a great impression on me, to be honest). I don't know if she was just a guest or what. Who knows what the 3rd might come up with these days... meh!

I consider Kari to be one of the best female voices (along with Gerrard - MAGICAL! -, Galas - CRAZY! - and Anneke Van Giersbergen - DREAMY!). However, in my personal ranking, I would place her last. If your intent was, rightly so, to highlight the complete lack of connections with the aforementioned bands, then that's fine. There's been no news regarding the 3rd, huh... Zero updates, nowhere to be found. Who knows if they will resurface...

Of course, I wanted to write "Temptation" and "prevaricazione"...

In fact, I did not compare TOT to the 3rd; they have nothing to do with each other. You're the one who mentioned them, and on top of that, in pairs with Within Temptation (with whom they have nothing in common). If they make you laugh, that's another matter, but the three groups mentioned don’t have anything in common. Regarding syntax and punctuation, I'm mostly referring to this sentence: "Nell'attesa di loro nuove e, si spera, confortanti notizie; ritorno su queste pagine per recensire...". It’s that semicolon. I don’t know if you just overlooked it (which is quite possible), but it doesn’t belong there. That said, the rating certainly doesn’t depend on this sentence! The expressiveness factor carries more weight: I don’t like allusions like "rigidifying the fleshy member of the metalhead or the goth of the moment." I understand what you’re trying to express (the often prevailing factor of "sex" over "music"), I just wouldn’t have used it in a review. The rating is strictly subjective; if others like this way of writing reviews, there’s no problem. :D And if by chance I annoyed you with my rating/comment, I’m sorry.

Well, I didn't like the review. I don't like how you write (both in terms of expression and, at times, syntax and punctuation)... whatever. Then labeling the sound of Theatre Of Tragedy as 'pathetic' and joining them with Within Temptation (who have nothing to do with it)! No one will be able to compose works like their self-titled album, "Velvet Darkness They Fear," and "Aégis" anymore. Regarding the 3rd: I really appreciate their early productions and "In This Room"; but then "Memoirs" didn't appeal to me at all, except for a couple of tracks. I find this EP very valid. I'm rounding up excessively to raise the average. Cheers!

This story evokes an incredible sadness! The image that particularly stuck with me is that of Gregor-insect watching the city outside the window, all alone, imprisoned, abandoned...

Sfascia, I want to review my Medieval History manual... can I, right? Otherwise, I'll write the review on the instruction booklet of the electric razor, you know...
My Dying Bride For Lies I Sire

Damn it, in the end I have to agree with you. And you know how much I would have wished it weren't so... In fact, the first 3 tracks ("My Body, A Funeral," "Fall With Me," and "The Lies I Sire"), "ShadowHaunt," and - I know I might seem like someone who settles for just a handful of blastbeats and growls/screams - "A Chapter In Loathing" do stand out. The latter, despite being remarkably out of place with the rest, I like. Furthermore, I would say it's not even entirely "classically" MDB, but rather has a black metal twist that I didn't expect (especially Aaron's screams). Speaking of the worst: "Santuario di Sangue" (which is indeed celebrated even in the MDB forum) has little to offer, and the awkward and annoying interlude significantly lowers the score. "Bring Me Victory" - perhaps even without real justification - made me think most of the time of the latest Cradle Of Filth (bad sign!), mainly due to the vocals and the catchy rhythm...I swear the first thing that came to my mind when I heard it was Cradle! "Echoes From A Hollow Soul" seems overly sentimental, and certain vocal lines really made me think, "Oh my god, is this Aaron?!" "Death Triumphant" has those eerie acoustic moments and the final part that isn't bad at all, but the rest leaves no mark...and I was expecting something like "The Return Of The Beautiful"! It breaks my heart to realize this. Unfortunately, I have to say that FLIS is inferior to ALODK...and after a period of enthusiasm, I have considerably downplayed it (although it remains a superior album compared to many in the genre, mind you). What a despair, guys...I hope they recover and that the next one is truly memorable. Highlights: "My Body, A Funeral," "ShadowHaunt," and "A Chapter In Loathing."

"I know 'Solar Lovers', it's a great album. But I absolutely disagree when you say that 'SODWOL' is a photocopy. To me, there is nothing that sounds like that album, absolutely. I repeat, it's the one that, along with 'Turn Loose The Swans', moves my soul the most. I don't know what else to tell you. As for the industrial experiments... no, I wouldn't see those, I'm sorry. Cheers!"
