I am one of those who still don't get Sunn O)))... I swear, I've tried, but they bore me! :S Maybe I'll give them another shot in the future, who knows, but for now I just can't stand them. I've heard about Aethenor before, but I haven't "tackled" it. I'll get around to it at some point too :P

Well done; I notice that your (always numerous) reviews are well-crafted every time. I had already read something elsewhere about this album and had only heard a bit. You’ve given me the push to dig deeper into the matter :) I'm no expert in apocalyptic folk, I've only heard a little (but very little) of Current 93 and Death In June. What would you recommend to start with from Sol Invictus?

@Brat12: I only know Coil by name, so I checked out some stuff on YouTube. Although I've only heard a couple of tracks, I can say they have nothing to do with Elend. Elend, in fact, is deeply orchestral, with the first cycle being very neoclassical (and the second more experimental). Due to the excessive costs associated with recording and production, they can no longer afford to produce music of that kind. Therefore, the Elend project is dead (sigh). The Ensamble Orphique is a side project (of one of the two, I don't remember who...) that emerged during the activity of Elend. The two masterminds of Elend will continue to pursue their music with this project (and another one, the name of which I can't recall; I don't remember if they are working together or separately). Anyway, there should be some notes regarding this on the Elend website. For now, no production has been announced; it's still in a work-in-progress state. I hope they make themselves heard soon... PS: let me know what you think of my review.
