Morbid Angel Entangled in Chaos

It may sound strange, absurd, incomprehensible... but I swear I've tried listening to some albums, and they left me a bit cold. It might be the production, or maybe the guitars often don't sound "gritty," or perhaps the growl seems a bit "constrained" to me, but they didn't impress me as I had hoped. I know they are part of the foundation of Death Metal as we understand it today, and they are masters for many bands, but for now, they don’t say much to me. I promise to give it another shot in the future, okay?! :D Long live Behemoth! XD

I'm not an expert on the French BM scene, but since many people speak so highly of it, I guess I’ll have to take a look at it sooner or later :)

@Mike76: in the blues attire, I just can't digest it, unfortunately. Maybe I need to give myself some time to appreciate those albums; I often find myself "not being ready" for certain albums/artists and discovering that after some time (weeks, months, years) they evoke something in me that they couldn't before. Regarding "Schrei X": I think it's harder to swallow because it's a concentrate of absurd verses, 27 minutes of continuous madness. What here in "Vena Cava" is 'diluted' with spoken parts or snippets of operatic singing is concentrated there. On the other hand, the title says it all: "schrei," scream. Of the Red Death Trilogy, I've listened more to "The Divine Punishment"; the others just a bit here and there. Still, it's true, there's no music in the sense of notes, rhythm, pause; but it has its own charm. An album doesn't have to follow the "canons" of music, otherwise no one would listen to dark ambient ;-) And of course, the magic formula always applies: "de gustibus..." PS: oh, I'll try to give it a rating... even though, I don't know, it's difficult...

Mmmm... I don't really like the review, but I’ll still give you a passing grade. The 25-minute track is destructive! It completely blows your mind with those 3 notes :D

I've never seen those old but intriguing TV series (I'm still young!), but when they advertised the releases on DVD/VHS at the newsstands (mostly Belfagor), I was really intrigued... I'm curious to see what they're like... :)
