Charles Baudelaire I Fiori del Male

"In summary, I don't consider school the alpha and omega of knowledge, but calling it useless and labeling all teachers as idiots really pisses me off!": I quote. Regarding genius: in my previous comment, I wrote that if genius exists, it will eventually come out; implied that it needs to be stimulated.

If you're interested in discovering a strange author (if you don't know him already), take a look at the review just above this one on the list (I Canti di Maldoror / Poesie)? I would love to know if anyone is familiar with him, what they think of the work (and maybe also of the review). Regarding education: school can't teach you how to live, and it isn't always up to the task, but I am grateful for the education I received. @SY: until proven otherwise, school should be completed by age 19 if you've gone through it regularly ;-) Anyway, everyone is free to think as they please, of course :) It's still true that if genius is present, sooner or later it will come to light.

@SY: I agree that certain things cannot be taught. I told HardRock the same: the important thing is that they provide the impulse, and then whoever wants to can pick it up and explore on their own, walking with their own little legs. I was lucky to have a great Italian teacher in my last three years of high school. In my French Literature I course, I had a professor whose knowledge and love for what she does is really enormous. She seems a bit eccentric at times, and she had me dying of laughter (of course, unintentionally; she didn’t realize she was making the whole classroom laugh under their breath...), but you can tell she truly loves what she has dedicated herself to (literature and teaching, which is still a different kind of teaching from compulsory education). I followed her lessons as if I were hypnotized, intent on absorbing everything she said (well, as much as I could :D), to then use it in MY future exploration. They provide us with the tools and push us on that journey we then have to undertake. I repeat: apparently, I was really lucky to have certain teachers at school :D

@Panapp: thank you very much... regarding the fact that you "changé la vie," I didn't include it in the review because it seemed pointless and silly to do so. I wrote it in a few comments here anyway. Nothing groundbreaking, eh :D

@Lupin: you know there are black groups that mix Celtic music! :D And there are also songs with lyrics in Irish Gaelic. In this regard, I recommend "Tuatha Na Gael" by Cruachan. If you want Celtic black metal in French, there are Aes Dana. And if you're looking for oriental black metal, Melechesh (although these leave me quite indifferent), who are Israeli :) Happy now? :D

@Sony Youth: for me it wasn't like that... on the contrary, as I said earlier to HardRock, I had several teachers who inspired a thirst for knowledge (many others didn't, of course...). I must have been lucky :D

@ItalianDreamer (I still have to figure out if you’re a her or a him... in the comments you’ve used both genders! Maybe you’re intersex... uhm...): but don’t you know any other bands?! My God, those are always the usual ones! Surely Symphony and Blind haven’t been reviewed as much as Iron, Dream & Co., but I’d still avoid duplicates. You said you don’t listen only to metal/rock... try reviewing something from that “other” genre, maybe it’s not here yet. What do you say? Or start digging to discover new bands... come on, let’s go :) This is just a suggestion, you know.

Thank you (that's "grazie" in Welsh), Mr. Cornelio! Did she accidentally let it slip on the 4th, or has she really listened to this demo and is aware of the vote? :)

Oh well, my preparation isn't extensive, not at all! In fact, I haven't read anything by Chateaubriand. By now, I have very little time to dedicate to pleasure reading, and I have so many things I would like to read (for about a week now, though - to take a break from the required readings in preparation for an exam - I've started reading "Melmoth the Wanderer" by Charles Maturin... do you know it?). I'm looking forward to continuing my studies, which will allow me to learn more :D Be careful with that Lautréamont! I've warned you... XD
