@muitosaudoismo, sorry but I really don't see how monk influenced the 40s bobbers. Then you say when I don’t play bossa and samba (apart from the fact that the two have nothing to do with each other) but maybe for you Jobim was composing little tunes for the mutual?

I find it slightly inferior both musically and in poetry compared to the subsequent works.

The kids today seem to me very well-prepared and musically cultured; they know everything about rock, jazz, classical, and contemporary music. Of course, they might be a bit disappointed for this very reason, having to make comparisons between the rock music of the past and that of today... I also listen to Italian music, and the new generations have appeared to me as very talented, especially in songwriting.

@ psycopompe. I remember that the most listened to "alternative" music in the mid-80s was metal (the real one, English and European, not American with the subsequent Motley Crue, Bon Jovi or even Anthrax and let’s say Metallica where everything went to hell) and a certain dark music. Punk was hardly listened to by anyone and you wouldn't see a punk around even with a telescope; in the club, they were still dancing to commercial music.
