Without bringing up vintage vinyl records (from the '50s), I think each of us must have had an LP from the '70s at home (like a Pink Floyd, for instance). Certainly, if it hasn't been played with a nail, thrown out of a window, or scratched due to some frustration (which I believe happened quite often back then, especially in rock), you can easily verify that the vinyl has remained intact after over 30 years. As for listening, I can assure you that a few hundred euros could be enough to get an excellent cartridge.
