I saw Akerfeldt live and I can indeed confirm Casamorta's opinion: a lackluster performance, everyone was still, and there was zero interaction with the audience... just two remarks: "hi guys, we’re the best band at this festival" and "this song is about the space between the ass and the vagina"... Let's realize this a bit :O

Another opinion on the album that I reviewed giving it a 4... But it makes perfect sense :)
It's true that I notice confusion on the album, and honestly, the thing that makes it all strange is that Jonas puts more effort into going off-beat or similar on the tracks than creating interesting or fitting vocal lines... But I don't know why the album makes me feel like I'm on a journey...
I hadn’t thought about the fact that Akerfeldt labeled it "The greatest 'heavy' record I've heard in the last 10 years," when it actually has very little heaviness, and I believe it was a choice deliberately made by the band... And then, do you think the leader of Opeth is an impartial source? XD

I'm not crazy about Ashen; I mean, it's instrumentally interesting, but the vocals seem glued on with force... it hardly fits at all...

Indeed, it must be said that doom bands tend to shy away from this genre to experiment with other styles, usually :D
Anyway, Anathema are at least on their fifth postponement for this album. My compliments :D

But why does no one want to trust the review, instead :D? Is it because I'm a stranger around here? XD

My first, second, third, and fourth listens were all done with a wrinkled nose. It had definitely left a negative impression on me. I kept thinking it was a real pain in the ass. It needs to be explored further, perhaps after a period from the initial listens...

I absolutely love the album, it’s fucking liberating... but reading around it seems like I’m the only one who thinks so!
