@lupin,@telespallabob: Mussolini was well killed; I'm not a supporter of pacifism a priori, I rather refer to the fact that some people have used a noble cause for opportunism and personal gain, killing even innocent people who had little to do with fascism (and how many can honestly say they didn't at least initially join the movement?). Nor do I want to compare partisans to republicans, for heaven's sake, I don't want to condemn the movement, but we shouldn't close our eyes to acts of unjustified violence that were committed by certain individuals who were part of the partisans, even if to a certainly lesser extent than the fascists. And as already mentioned, there are those who until the day before were on the opposite side.

also because in my country there are plenty of people who, as long as it suited them, were fervent fascists, but when the wind changed direction, they jumped on the partisans' bandwagon and took advantage of it to get rid of people they couldn't stand.

Look, the resistance was important (more from a political perspective than a military one), but to say it was all right and necessary seems excessive to me. I have relatives who were partisans, and they themselves say that some did some awful things.
