Thanks everyone for the comments. @il68: in the end, this CD isn't very metal in the strict sense; if you like '70s rock and have time, give it a listen :)

I've always found Matt Damon annoying, but just on instinct... I think he has the face of someone who, as soon as you turn around, will (metaphorically) screw you over.

Addictive, truly an extraordinary album... captivating like few others!

nothing special for me too, after this two-hour fuss in which practically nothing happens (and I’ll say that I have nothing against slow films, I really like 2001: A Space Odyssey or Stalker, for example) you start to wonder where it actually wanted to go... despite the long duration, it manages to convey a sense of incompleteness.
R.E.M. Collapse Into Now

But what's wrong with following the "dinosaurs"? True music is timeless, so what should we say about classical music? Personally, I almost always prefer to listen to music that's at least a few years old, which time has properly filtered; otherwise, trying to keep up with the various hyped albums drives you crazy! Anyway, R.E.M. are for me the typical nice and pleasant band, but they've never fully captured me, even though they are certainly among the best in their genre.

I didn't know them, and I don't think I'm going to dig deeper into them since I already don't really go crazy for Motley (like glam in general) and Mr. Big (like AOR in general), but the review is well written :)

@hell, it was indeed him; in fact, he did it several times when the scar was healing... I read a recent interview where he claimed that at one point he exaggerated and managed to expose the underlying skull cap... I don't know if it's true, but the very fact that he brags about something like that says a lot about the character ^^

This CD in itself inspires me, but I hope it's not one of those that gets you pumped up at first but then declines a lot over time, given the proposal... I’ll listen to it a bit more before deciding to make it mine, definitely an interesting debut in any case!

very objective review, I stopped at their first album which wasn't bad at all but I felt that their albums more or less all sound alike; however, there are quite a few enthusiastic comments about this one floating around, even though I definitely won’t be listening to it.

I stayed stuck with them at amnesiac, are there any must-sees among the following ones?
