Amon Düül Psychedelic Underground

for me, the best kraut debut remains that of Faust, followed by Amon Düül II and Klaus Schulze (even though we're more in the kosmische realm here) :) then Can are obviously giants as well, but I prefer their trilogy of Tago Mago, Ege Bamyasi, and Future Days.

Indeed, surely the spirit of the album is philosophically close to the R.K.; it has also undoubtedly laid the foundations for what would come later.

@pablo: of course, I wasn't referring to you when I mentioned the term masterpiece :) the historical significance is absolutely indisputable; as for the rest, it's a matter of taste, surely there's a big difference between saying it's not essential and claiming it's a piece of junk! In fact, in the future, I will also try to get the original album, as a kraut enthusiast it's a must-have after all ;)

But look, on this album I've seen opinions ranging from "total garbage" to "absolute masterpiece," specifically mentioning the Red Krayola like you did (some even go as far as saying they were better than II, which is fine for subjectivity, but...). Personally, I don't find the album bad; it's nice but also naive and rough. I wouldn't personally place it among the must-haves, you know.

in fact, at least at first glance, they really hit hard; I’m listening to them in the dark and they’re very evocative. I highly recommend giving them a listen.

still on the doom/esoteric theme, try giving a listen to the murkrat, I just discovered them and they don't seem bad:

damn you, you always make me discover potentially interesting groups and my list of upcoming listens keeps getting longer every time :)

@kosmo: I didn't mean to make a qualitative comparison between the two, especially since, as I mentioned, I haven't heard the first one yet; I just wanted to explain my innate distrust :)

Anyway, they told me that their second one is better, but I still have to listen to it.
Grave Digger The Clans Will Rise Again

I didn't like them even at their golden moment because I really don't like the singer's voice, which for me is one of the most important things. Anyway, I approached them because I found the idea of historical concepts interesting, but the spark didn't ignite, amen. Although I did quite like the Scottish intro of "Tunes of War" with the bagpipes. By the way, can someone recommend me a nice rock album featuring bagpipes? I'll finish by saying that I was already suspicious about the quality of this CD when they decided to make a sequel after years, which is usually an attempt to play the last card during a creative slump...
