The Queen are an unjustly criticized band; in the end, they created a distinctly original and unmistakable style. Before their pop-oriented shift, they released a series of pretty good records, this being the best along with II.

I completely agree with Genoo; I've also noticed this trend in action films that doesn't particularly please me. The apotheosis of what you're saying I found in the latest Schneider film, Sucker Punch, which truly feels more like a video game than a movie, with a completely nonexistent plot and just endless special effects.
