Theory of a Deadman The Truth Is..

At the time, I felt something of gasoline and they are the typical pseudo-alternative band from radio/MTV; however, on our local radio stations, a lot worse gets played, so a 2 can be forgiven.

@Claypool: great records you mentioned! I caught this one briefly, but it didn't grab me enough to explore it further, maybe also because I was a bit saturated with prog. The cover has always given me a bit of a strange feeling for some reason.

They can be heard around, what I'm skeptical about is the long-lasting value...

@frankie: um, so I was misinformed, the way you describe them just makes me lose interest... :/

But indeed, I know well that there has been evolution. I mentioned just a couple of posts above that one of the reasons for the shortage of "greats" is the thousand subcurrents that the genre has branched into, and personally, I find it awesome. At this point, I'm in the phase where I prefer gigs in small venues with few people, where you're at least a meter away from the stage, and maybe afterwards you can grab a beer with the band. I'd also add Linkin Park to the Avenged, even though the little bit of metal that was there has now completely vanished.

By the way, I’d like to point out: people always go to concerts for the usual big names ---> I add: on debaser, the 10 comments always surpass themselves only for the usual big names that we all find so awful :D

Well, no come on, a bit of evolution every now and then is needed, but that doesn’t mean there can’t also be revival groups in the meantime (although at that point I’d prefer to listen to the originals again).

Ultimately, I would say that the golden age of thrash is long gone; if you want to aim for successful metal, you need to look elsewhere, especially because I don't think it has much more to say. After all, even AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, and Nirvana do completely different things.

Well, compared to Slayer & co, let's say they were the new big thrash wave and even they couldn't assert themselves 100%, even though they were one step away from doing so; then from there the genre started to decline, seeing as death and the second generation of black exploded. As for the fact that Korn made two decent albums, as the good Sfascia says, for me Metallica made three, so we’re on the same page, huh ;)

Ah, and in the thrash scene, new groups that had great potential in that sense were Pantera, Sepultura, and Machine Head. It's a shame they lasted less than their inspirers, either because they broke up or took directions that were less suitable towards nu...
