Among other things, a new album should have either come out or be coming out very soon from unexpect. I'm really curious about what they'll come up with.

You always suggest intriguing stuff; in jazz, however, I'm still too far behind on the classics to delve into the more "modern" and/or "minor" things...

Well, even though they don't fall into nu-metal themselves, Fear Factory have been an influence for many bands in the nu scene (both in terms of music and production); so they're not entirely wrong. The way they alternate more aggressive moments, both musically and vocally, with more melodic ones has been an "innovation" in the metal genre that many nu bands have picked up.

I don't know, the best ones are usually considered demanufactured and obsolete, if you don't like those, it's hard for the rest to drive you crazy.

@macaco: wow, you pique my curiosity, I can't wait :) but apart from the probable exceptions (as I imagine will be the case with your review group), you'll agree that in most cases today's prog (p ne-prog) groups essentially limit themselves to revival.

cute receipt :) even though they are historic, they have never captivated me like others; in addition to those mentioned by monarch, I would add Strapping Young Lad, my favorite industrial metal band (City is a definitive album)
Federico Fellini 8 ½

beautiful film, but my favorites by Fellini are Satyricon and Casanova

It’s logical that playing prog after the 70s has nothing to do with the ā€œprogressiveā€ in the original sense of the word; nowadays, prog means music that refers back to 70s prog, and DT still includes elements such as odd time signatures, long tracks, suites, concept albums, etc., which undoubtedly evoke that context; so I’d say the term prog-metal fits perfectly. Of course, if someone expects King Crimson, they will be disappointed, but that’s that :D

Ah, have you ever tried to approach kraut-rock? Anyway, I've heard a bit of the CCCP and they don't seem bad, actually.
