let's say it also depends on what exactly you mean by art... for me, there is art and Art. like for me no video game will ever match something like Michelangelo's David (to stick to things reviewed on debaser :D), however, if I think about all the things that are classified as art and how many charlatans are called artists... let's just say that in art with a lowercase 'a' (which includes a lot of stuff that drives me crazy, not meant to be derogatory) sometimes it can actually be valid.

I, while loving video games (at least in the past, unfortunately I no longer have time!), am very skeptical about their potential to be considered Art; the playful aspect always prevails too much. That said, there are still a lot of truly intelligent/deep/visionary/etc. video games out there.
